UrFU to become a platform for establishing international ties

In 2023 Ural Federal University for the first time will become a participant of Summer University federal project organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. From 10 to 23 July, the university will accept students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, as well as non-CIS countries: Brazil, Vietnam, India, Serbia, and Colombia.

The aim of the event is to immerse foreign students in the Russian scientific and educational space. UrFU’s principal Viktor Koksharov said that more than 4 thousand foreign students are now studying at the university.

"Scientific and intercultural exchange helps both the university and the young people. In such synergy, UrFU's recognizability in the global educational market increases and the achievements of domestic science are spread. I am sure that UrFU will become a platform for establishing international ties and cooperation with other universities and organizations. The project will help the university to attract talented students and will also allow us to demonstrate the strongest sides of the region and the university," – said Viktor Koksharov, UrFU’s principal.

Apart from UrFU, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Siberian Federal University will be the Summer University's venues. A total of 1,2 thousand students will take part in the project: 300 foreign and 100 Russian students at each participating university.

The Summer University federal project is a socially significant event in the sphere of education, science, and youth policy of international scale. The Summer University was first implemented in 2021 in the format of a large-scale educational project of the Federal state.
