SFU intends to expand online education for foreigners

In 2023, Siberian Federal University as a participant of the Summer University federal project will accept 300 foreign students from such countries as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Bangladesh, Jordan, China, Mongolia, and Ecuador. SFU's guests will meet with leading lecturers, representatives of business and the expert community.

 This year, students will be able to choose one of seven educational programs: management; engineering sciences: mining and metallurgy, engineering sciences: energy, mechanical engineering; motor transport; IT; biomedicine; philology and tourism.

 "Continuing the implementation of one of the priority projects of the Russian government – Development of the export potential of the Russian education system – we expect to increase the number of double degree programs, joint network programs, as well as to form points of permanent presence of SFU on the sites of foreign universities so that this work becomes regular. We expect to expand the sphere of online education for foreigners in the FVE sector and programs to promote Russian language and culture abroad, as well as online courses to meet the needs of modern business," – said SFU's principal Maxim Rumyantsev.

 He noted that additional effects of the project should become the educational tourist routes and various summer study programs for foreigners.

 In addition to SFU, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and the Ural Federal University will become the sites of the Summer University. A total of 1,2 thousand students will take part in the project: 300 foreign and 100 Russian students at each participating university.

 The Summer University federal project is a socially significant event in the sphere of education, science, and youth policy on an international scale. The Summer University was first implemented in 2021 in the format of a large-scale educational project of the Federal state.
