The Youth. Innovations. Commonwealth program of Kazan Federal University's Summer University project has come to an end. The project was implemented by KFU jointly with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and FSASI Sociocenter.
Timirkhan Alishev, vice-principal for external relations of Kazan University, emphasized that among the trainees there are many who consider KFU as a continuation of further education:
"The participants of the Summer University highly appreciate the level of the implemented programs. Since most of the participants are students of bachelor's programs at foreign universities, they are interested in enrolling in master's programs at Kazan University. Judging by the feedback we receive, more than 70 percent of them want to return for further studies at KFU and partner universities."
More than 300 people of different ages from 30 countries took part in the project: Turkey, Egypt, Cuba, Algeria, Syria, Colombia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan Belarus, and others. The youngest participant was 18 years old, the oldest was 37 and the oldest companion was 60 years old.
The event was held with the support of partner universities: Nizhny Novgorod State University, Samara State Technical University, Udmurt State University, Innopolis University.
Speaking about the cooperation between Kazan and Samara Universities, Sergey Tits, Associate Professor of the Department of Aviation Engineering Operation at Samara National Research University named after Academician S. P. Korolev, noted that thanks to the Summer University it was possible not only to get acquainted with colleagues with whom we had previously managed to cross paths in other areas, but also to achieve new results, including within the framework of the Priority-2030 Strategic Academic Leadership Program.
KFU organized educational tracks for the project participants that were as diverse as possible in terms of subject areas Languages and Culture of Russia, Environmental Design and Tactical Urbanism, International Relations and Russia in the Global World, Ecological Design and Sustainable Urban Development, Future Technologies: Physics and Engineering, Game Design: Science and Practice.
At the end of the event, the foreign guests received certificates of participation in the Summer University project.
