Only days remain until the start of the international "Summer University" project. From July 21 to August 3, 2025, participants from around the world will gather at three of Russia's leading universities: Kazan Federal University, Siberian Federal University, and Ural Federal University.
This year, the project will bring together over 1,000 students from 37 countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, India, China, Brazil, South Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Serbia, and many others. Participants will discover the opportunities of Russian education, cutting-edge scientific achievements, and the centuries-old culture and traditions of our country.
Siberian Federal University: Where Science Meets Practice
Siberian Federal University continues as one of the project's key venues. The university is engaging not only its own resources but also partners: Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology, Katanov Khakass State University, Voyno-Yasenetsky Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, and Dostoevsky Omsk State University.
"This year marks Siberian Federal University's fifth time hosting the federal 'Summer University' project. In 2021, we welcomed about 50 students from Belarus to study management. This year, SFU is hosting 300 participants from dozens of countries, with instruction across six technical and humanities programs selected according to international students' interests," shares SFU Rector Maxim Rumyantsev.
Kazan Federal University: Science, Culture and Traditions
Kazan Federal University unites participants around science, history and culture. The project also involves its partners: Yelabuga Institute, Kazan National Research Technological University, Udmurt State University, and Innopolis University.
"It is our great honor to once again host talented, motivated students from around the world through the international 'Summer University' project. We see this project not just as an event, but as a crucial instrument for fulfilling our global educational mission," notes KFU Rector Lenar Safin.
In Kazan, participants will immerse themselves in intensive educational modules, develop interdisciplinary competencies, and experience the atmosphere of this ancient yet modern city. The cultural program includes tours of Tatarstan's landmarks, masterclasses, interactive sessions, and creative events fostering intercultural exchange.
Ural Federal University: Openness, Technology and Project-Based Approach
Ural Federal University is hosting "Summer University" for the third time, actively collaborating with partners: Ural State University of Economics, Ural State Medical University, Chelyabinsk State University, and Tyumen State University.
"International cooperation is one of Ural Federal University's top priorities. We already have students from over 100 countries, and we aim to expand this reach. That's why we're pleased to host the 'Summer University' educational project for the third time with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education," shares UrFU Acting Rector Ilya Obabkov.
In Yekaterinburg, participants will experience modern educational programs, an intensive project component involving industry partners like Uralmashplant, RUSAL, Sberbank, and ROSATOM, plus cultural and sporting events that reveal new facets of the city.
"Summer University" is more than an educational project—it's a space for building international communities, exchanging experiences, and making new friends. It's an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of modern Russia, discover the wealth of its science, culture and traditions, get inspired by advanced educational technologies, and consider continuing studies at Russian universities.
