From July 21, Siberian Federal University launched "Summer University" - one of the largest international education projects. Participants include students from 19 countries: Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Chile, Ecuador, Russia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Iraq, Vietnam and Pakistan. These 3rd-4th year students from partner universities aim to access world-class education while immersing themselves in Russian culture.
The project began at SibFU in 2021 as a pilot with one program - "Management. Global Entrepreneurship in Real and Virtual Space: Digital Business Models", hosting 50 students from Belarus. Now it has expanded to hundreds of students across seven programs. In 2025, participants will study management, engineering sciences (focusing on metallurgy), digital technologies, psychology and pedagogy, Russian philology, and tourism. One program is an English-taught course on business digital transformation (management).
Students' final project will be developing their own business plan with guidance from SibFU's top professors. They'll attend masterclasses on creating progressive business projects aligned with sustainable development concepts at leading Russian companies including Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold Plant, RUSAL, Polyus, and Sovcombank.
Ekaterina Sidorenko, SibFU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy:
"Students will have intensive weeks - educational programs, intercultural communication and friendship. SibFU will show what Krasnoyarsk Territory is, how Siberia lives, and present Krasnoyarsk - the city we're very proud of, while building international connections."
Artem Zakharov, Head of Russian MFA Representative Office in Krasnoyarsk:
"I believe this is an excellent event format and great opportunity to show our international guests the real Russia, make friends and establish future connections. In this regard, SibFU is certainly the regional leader. I hope such formats will be implemented more frequently."
Farisa Malik, Assistant Manager at NUST Business School, Pakistan:
"We've already explored Krasnoyarsk with five participating students from our university - we even got slightly lost yesterday. What surprised me about Krasnoyarsk residents was their kindness and responsiveness. Despite language barriers, passersby stopped and tried to help, spending their time to eventually guide us. Everyone was so warm-hearted - thank you for this!"
Anis Boboaliev, participant from Tajikistan (RTSU):
"Eight of us came from our university, and everyone has good impressions - students are developing, gaining new knowledge and experience, especially valuable in tourism and management. Having been to Krasnoyarsk before, my task is to show and explain everything to our students."
Key events of "Summer University 2025" at SibFU will include:
- Lectures by Russian "Knowledge" Society experts: "Brand Promotion Through Neuromarketing" and "Career Management in Modern World"
- "Youth for Healthy Lifestyle" international sports competitions
- Off-site masterclass at "Bagulnik" Youth Tourism Base
- Industrial workshop at RUSAL Krasnoyarsk
- "Siberian Showdown" international football tournament
- MICE tourism masterclass at "Sibir" Expo Center
The federal "Summer University" project promotes Russian education abroad and is implemented at leading Russian universities. Many foreign participants later return for full degree programs in Russia.
