The participants of the Summer University project will have a networking session, educational events, a presentation of the countries participating in the Global Village, an interactive evening "Sabantui", and a social project (Russian as a foreign language). More than 300 students from Turkey, Egypt, Cuba, Algeria, Syria, Colombia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, etc. are taking part in the project. The average age of the participants is 23 years. The program of the Summer University includes lectures, seminars, practical classes, as well as excursions and cultural events.
According to Timirkhan Alishev, vice-principal for external relations of KFU, the participants actively participate not only in the educational but also in the cultural part of the Summer University program:
"On the weekend (15-16 July), the guests of the project took part in the opening of the Revival: Epic in a modern reading festival in Bolgar, visited the island-town of Sviyazhsk - both sites are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. They also visited the Elabuga Museum-Reserve and Innopolis University," – stated the vice-principal. - Among the most popular tracks stand out Languages and Culture of Russia, International Relations and Russia in the Global World, Environmental Design and Tactical Urbanism, as well as the English-language track Digital economy: trends and development".
In the coming days, guests of Kazan University will see the birthplace of Tukai - Koshlauch in Arsky district, the embankment, park, Leskhoz settlement - in Rich Sabah, Semruk settlement (a multipurpose set built in 2018 for the filming of the Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes TV series) and a museum in Laishevsky district.
On 20 July, there will be a presentation of the participants' projects that they prepared during the training. The educational program will end this Friday, July 21. At the end of the event, the foreign guests will receive certificates of participation in the "Summer University" project.
The Summer University project was organized by Kazan Federal University together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and FSASI Sociocenter.
