Ural Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia with more than a century-long history. It is located in Ekaterinburg, the capital of the Ural region, one of the industrial, economic, scientific and cultural centers of Russia.
Ekaterinburg, one of the five largest and most developed cities in Russia, celebrates its 300th anniversary in 2023. Informally, Ekaterinburg is called the ‘Third Capital of Russia’. It is a unique city: it is here that one can simultaneously have one foot in Europe and the other in Asia.

Program
July 8 - 22, 2024, the annual Summer University” project will be held at the Ural Federal University. The project will unite 400 students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, South Ossetia, Moldova, India, Mexico, Algeria, Jordan and South Africa.
You will visit the industrial “heart of Russia”, the beautiful, youthful, dynamic city of Yekaterinburg. It goes without saying, that Yekaterinburg is considered the third city in Russia after Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Participation in the project is a unique opportunity to know more about one of the leading universities in Russia, which is also included in the world's largest rankings. Established more than 100 years ago UrFU is rich in history and traditions, it keeps pace with the most advanced, innovative scientific, educational and technological developments in all fields: engineering, natural sciences, humanities, economics and, of course, in computer science.

Modern technologies pay special attention to caring for people and nature, with intelligent methods of analytical information processing, cyber-physical systems and predictive simulation of technological processes playing a significant role. Advanced engineering and automation tools, collaborative robotics, biomimetics, bionic design, and additive technologies are key elements in the transformation of production within the framework of Industry 5.0. During the course, you will learn how to make a 3D model of a mechanism taking into account the analysis of load and motion parameters, a 3D model of an object, the results of a feasibility study and economic calculations necessary for implementation in the real sector of the economy.

The Jurisprudence field (Ural State Law University)
Without exaggeration, USLU is called the temple of traditions and the cradle of innovation. Law acts as the “skeleton” and “circulatory system” of any society, therefore, without high-quality legal support, without taking into account the national characteristics of individual states, cooperation (including economic integration) may be ineffective. In our course, we will build horizontal connections between different states and cultures in the context of the idea of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, analyze the modern political and economic agenda and formulate our vision and specific proposals for the development of legal interstate cooperation.

If you have never studied Russian before this course is for you. Whether you're looking for an introduction to the language before a holiday, or want to study intensively, we have a range of beginners classes available.
This course is flexible rather than prescriptive and tailor-made rather than regular. During the course we study more than language, we dive into the Russian world, so appealing and hidden behind the myths.
Project block
UrFU is one of Russia's leaders in project-based learning, actively promoting successful employment opportunities for students through the development and implementation of projects. The University has implemented a “Project Workshop” system, which helps students implement projects, the results of which will be further developed in industry, IT or the socio-economic sphere. Customers are partner organizations. We are proud that in 2023, 5,500 projects were created as part of Project-Based Learning in undergraduate and graduate programs with the participation of 330 partners.
We also implement project-based learning within the framework of the Summer University; the best projects in the areas will have the opportunity to show themselves in the finals and will be awarded prizes. The best project will be selected by the business and industry experts.

As a project, participants should identify areas of legal cooperation in each of the five modules:
- constitutional law in the Greater Eurasian Partnership area (constitutional stability of political systems in economic and integration development, the need to develop Eurasian parliamentarism, etc.);
- constitutional law in the Greater Eurasian Partnership area (constitutional stability of political systems in economic and integration development, the need to develop Eurasian parliamentarism, etc.);
- environmental law in the Greater Eurasian Partnership area (ESG as a new economic mechanism for environmental protection; Results of environmental control and supervision reforms; Environmental and legal management of organizations as an international element of environmental protection, etc.);
- civil procedure and alternative methods of dispute resolution in the Greater Eurasian Partnership (development and improvement of exequatur mechanisms across the EAEU, unified legal policy for digitalization of access to judicial protection, digital notary cooperation of the EAEU member States);
- training of international legal personnel, convergence of professional qualifications and the procedure for their confirmation (convergence and development of common educational standards of the EAEU member states in the field of legal education; creation and implementation of network educational projects of international level in the field of jurisprudence).

Sightseeing program
- UrFU campus tour: Ural Federal University impresses with its scale - the university has 15 academic buildings. Many successful scientists, economists, designers, inventors, and public figures studied and worked in these classrooms and laboratories. We will visit the main academic building and its laboratories, UrFU Museum with our professional guide.
- «Red line» walk around the Ekaterinburg - a guided tour of the Ural capital that dates back to the 18th century. Yekaterinburg has preserved many interesting architectural monuments, including being considered capital of constructivism, not only in Russia, but also in the world.
- International exhibition INNOPROM 2024 visit - the largest international event in Yekaterinburg. The exhibition participants are Russian and foreign companies presenting their innovative developments and projects.
- Industrial tours: participants of each track will have a unique opportunity to visit the largest enterprises and companies of the Sverdlovsk region and communicate with experts from various industries.
- Trip to the «Summer at the Factory» festival in Sysert: every year in July «Summer at the Factory» becomes the main summer festival of the Ural. The founder and mastermind of the project, a graduate of UrFU, Jan Kozhan, was able to bring his small student project to the regional level. On the territory of the old-time Turchaninov-Solomirsky factory in small town Sysert, a creative cluster is being created, where participants will be able to listen to lectures, visit exhibitions and master classes.
- Visit to the Yeltsin Center with a guided tour: This is not just a museum space, even if it is one of the most modern museums in Europe, the YC is a unique atmosphere, there is a media gallery, an educational center, and a film lecture hall. Yeltsin Center hosts concerts, festivals and exhibitions of contemporary artists.
- A visit the Museum of military and Automobile equipment in town Pyshma: Currently, the Museum is considered to be one of the largest Russian exhibition sites of military-technical and automobile profile, where more than 500 units of military equipment are collected on the territory of 9 hectares and the largest collection of retro cars, motorcycles and bicycles in Russia, which often become heroes movies and TV shows.

- Making reels for social networks, by UrFU media-center - you will learn how to correctly generate content, as well as creatively shoot and edit videos;
- «Big race» masterclass, by professional athletes - is not just physical education class, it is a team drive, fun and a real celebration of sports.
- Entertainment masterclass, by INNOPROM organizers - project participants will be able to visit masterclass from leading Russian companies and organizers, from yoga to golf tournaments;
- UrFU flash mob - a dance masterclass from choreographers, that participants will perform at the closing ceremony of the «Summer University» project;
- Public speaking masterclass «So the leaders say» - masterclasses with practical tasks, articulation and breathing exercises from professional speakers.
Evening of hospitality
Hospitality is welcomed by all nations, but nevertheless, the traditions of welcoming guests in each country are different. International and intercultural event for students, where participants can get acquainted with the traditions of the peoples of the world, as well as with national songs, poetry and dance.
